WASHINGTON — Today, Representative Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03) released the following statement after voting against a motion to table H. Res. 537, Impeaching Donald John Trump, President of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors:
"Today, I voted to open impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump. Republicans stopped the vote from moving forward, which would have opened the floor for debate. I will keep fighting to hold Trump accountable and stop him from terrorizing our communities. From illegally starting wars to ignoring due process to gutting federal agencies, he has incited a constitutional crisis."
