PHOENIX – This week, Representative Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03) hosted a series of local events during the congressional district work period focused on conversations with constituents highlighting the impact of dangerous Trump-Musk policies.
On Monday, Rep. Ansari joined a virtual town hall with over 150 members of the Arizona Disability Advocacy Coalition. They discussed the devastating impacts that cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, housing assistance and transportation will have on the disability community and Rep. Ansari reaffirmed her commitment to advocating alongside them to protect these programs and services.

On Tuesday, she hosted a town hall in Central Phoenix with more than 250 constituents to discuss critical issues facing Arizona. The event featured speakers from Common Defense and the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans, as well as overflow rooms for constituents who arrived after the venue reached capacity.
During the Town Hall, Rep. Ansari discussed her “no” vote on the harmful Republican Continuing Resolution, and previewed new legislation she is planning to address issues of affordability. This is Ansari’s fourth town hall and second in-person town hall since beginning her term in January.

Ansari also hosted an LGBTQIA+ community roundtable with nonprofits and small business owners to hear firsthand the challenges they face and the opportunities for change they see within our community.

On Wednesday, Rep. Ansari led over thirty of her colleagues in a letter to President Trump opposing the potential reinstatement of his discriminatory travel ban. As the daughter of Iranian immigrants, she has been a strong advocate for immigrant rights during the Trump presidency. Read Ansari’s op-ed on the proposed ban HERE.
Ansari also visited the Air Traffic Control Tower at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport where she spoke with air traffic controllers and discussed the importance of preventing any further cuts to FAA programs that ensure that air travel is safe for all.
