Congresswoman participating in three committees temporarily
WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03) received the support of the full Democratic Caucus to join the House Education and Workforce Committee. Following a successful vote in the House Steering and Policy Committee last night, Ansari will now be one of only a few Democrats to serve on more than two committees–she currently serves on the House Natural Resources and Oversight Committees.
“It’s my honor to carry on the work of former Congressman Grijalva on the Education and Workforce Committee. From school districts falling into disrepair, to labor unions worried about the most basic worker protections being rolled back, the work of our committee will be more important than ever,” said Rep Ansari. “I’m not afraid of hard work, and I’ve been hitting the ground running for my constituents from Day One–this is just the next step.”

Ansari will be an active member of three committees until September. She will be the only Arizonan on the Education and Workforce Committee.
