WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03) announced she would not attend the inauguration of President-elect Trump on Monday, January 20, but will be in her district volunteering for Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service.
“Third District families sent me to D.C. to work for them–that’s why I’ll be in my community this weekend, meeting with Arizonans and volunteering alongside the folks I represent,” said Rep. Ansari. “I fully support a peaceful transition of power and look forward to finding ways to reach across the aisle and work with my colleagues on ways to better the lives of Arizona families.”
On Monday, Representative Ansari plans to volunteer locally, as well as attend Martin Luther King Jr. Day activities in her personal capacity.
