WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03) celebrated the unanimous House passage of H.R. 1722, the Billion Dollar Boondoggle Act, bipartisan legislation she introduced with Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks to increase transparency and accountability for taxpayer-funded federal projects that are significantly over budget or behind schedule.
“Our bill is a sensible, bipartisan measure to do what DOGE and Elon Musk failed to—hold the federal government accountable for projects that are way behind schedule and over budget,” said Rep. Ansari. “The American people deserve transparency about how their tax dollars are being spent, especially at a time when families are seeing essential programs like Medicaid and SNAP cut while wasteful projects continue unchecked.”
