Rep. Ansari knows that housing is a human right, and she is fighting to lower the costs of rent and housing across the board. She believes that no one should ever have to choose between keeping a roof over their heads or putting food on the table, which is why she is a bold advocate for more affordable housing and transformative solutions to address the crisis of homelessness in Arizona and across the country. 

In places like Arizona, Rep. Ansari knows we don’t have nearly enough housing to keep up with our growing population. That means the cost of living is higher, rent is going up, and we’ve seen a spike in homelessness which is hurting families and our economy. On the Phoenix City Council, Rep. Ansari helped secure over $120 million in funding from the American Rescue Plan for rental assistance and new affordable housing developments. 

In Congress, she’s worked to advocate for additional funding for housing and homelessness mitigation programs from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
