Rep. Ansari: "Every student in America deserves a ballroom"

The events of the White House Correspondents Dinner have been made out to be many things. But one is certain—it was unsurprising. It’s not surprising that in a country facing both a gun violence crisis and a rise in political violence, Americans are once again forced to hide—under tables, under desks—just to survive. It’s also unsurprising that my Republican colleagues have responded by offering a ballroom. If a ballroom is your solution to gun violence, then every student in America deserves one. #shorts
